I guess it depends on who is managing the socialist state. If republicans are at the helm, then it's all good.

Better do it fast. With each succeeding generation, more and more are dependent upon government largess. And they WILL NOT give it up. :(

Man, this makes me sick. From the article: "70 percent of those who sympathize with the Tea Party, which organized protests this week against President Barack Obama's health-care overhaul, want a federal government that fosters job creation."

Most of these tea partiers are angry, but do they even know what they're angry with? I can't believe so many people just don't fucking get it.

As someone above said: "Educate! Educate! Educate!"

The problem is, when you point out to someone that medicare is socialist, they get angry and think you would rather let seniors die on the streets. Then you can point out that there is a gradual way to eliminate medicare and privatize the coverage, but they're already mad at you.

Better to phase it out then let it collapse. It cannot continue. And it will become more and more ineffective as governmetn bureacracies inside the program expand and expand. Just like a cancer.

It depends on what is meant by "a federal government that fosters job creation". In my mind a "federal government that fosters job creation" is one that cuts taxes and decreases regulation. In other words the federal government getting out of the way fosters job creation. Too bad the story doesn't actually list the wording of the question.

Don't lump them in all together, many of them hate all the social programs but feel trapped. And many hate them regardless. Even when I was in GOP mode( I basically ignored politics back then) I was totally against social security and all of it.

This is the mistake of believing that there is any substantial difference between the 2 controlled parties They have both been pushing the same agenda for many years.

2 sides of the same coin.

I find it funny that many Tea Partiers are also very supportive of Homeland Security, the Patriot act, and so on. They might not want everyone covered by health care, but they seem very trusting of the government when it suits their point of view. I know not all are like this, but I'm just talking about people I know in real life.

They are brainwashed. Ron Paul said Social programs should have never been started and he's RIGHT, but the point IS, the democraps KNOW people will quickly become dependent on them so there's no chance of repeal. Tones

HAHA when you tell the tea baggers that Bush expanded medicare they look shock. Same old, Same old. Gee what if Mittens was at the helm, would the tea baggers give him the pass for Mittenscare?
