There is a second group, again, relatively small in number compared to the whole universe, who say look, we`re libertarians, we are part of the campaign for liberty. We want to grab control of this movement in order to bend it towards the direction, turn it as a giant funnel and squirt it into the Ron Paul for President campaign in 2012.

I'm not sure myself if he was being a sarcastic dickhead, or perhaps realizing the GOP's only chance is to rally behind Dr. Paul. :(

However, Obama is such a disgrace that at this point any Republican should be able to beat him in 2012. Even Larry Craig. :rolleyes:

Now the question is, would Rove say this to try to stop us from doing that? If he wanted to do that, he'd be less public about it. Does he want us to try to do that? Maybe....

He wasn't making any judgmental really about the C4L and the rEVOLution. He was simply noting that we are a distinct (libertarian) faction within the Tea Party movement.

If you keep watching through that clip for a few minutes it becomes clear that he has a good grasp on the complicated and multi-faceted nature of the Tea-Party movement. Understanding the political climate is his specialty after all. I mean, you can't co-opt a movement if you don't understand it.
