Washington (CNN) – An anti-abortion rights organization is withdrawing an award it planned to present Rep. Bart Stupak, after the Michigan Democrat announced Sunday he would support health care reform legislation.

The Susan B. Anthony List had chosen Stupak to receive the “Defender of Life” award at the “Campaign for Life Gala” Wednesday here in the nation’s capital.

Good for the pro-life group. In light of Stupak's reversal at crunch time, his anti-abortion funding amendment to Obamacare can now be more accurately seen as just a trojan horse to get the bill passed in the House. Once passed, the gambit was going to be withdrawn, as per plan. Whether Stupak was fully aware of this intent from the start and therefore part of it, or realized it in the run up to the vote Sunday before caving, the effect is the same. He did not deserve the award.

Actually the EO was signed yesterday, as promiced. However, it's unconstitutional for Obama to unilaterally make US law, which he is effectively trying to do, and statute trumps EO's, so it's completely worthless.

BO's very first Executive Order a few days after inauguration was to repeal the rules that restricted U.S. foreign aid to be used for abortions -
so Obama was pro-abortion globally right out of the gate.

The recent Executive Order tricked Stupak into buying that BO changed his pro-abortion convictions, but also doesn't change anything about funding abortion through the mandatory insurance Ponzi scheme, does it ? . . .
. . . it just weakly affirms the Hyde Amendment sorta
- a smokescreen Stupak could hide behind for becoming an Obama lapdog.

Sure, rescind the award . . . Stupak should now be excommunicated from public office.

I don't think he will last. I'm in the UP which is where part of his district is and people who have voted for him in the past are saying that they won't do it again because he voted for the bill. Not necessarily because of the abortion issue, but because he voted for it. Hopefully he's not the only one this is happening to.

Why should a baby killer get a pro-life award?
