Is the difference in this that the fed govt is forcing us to purchase a product? (insurance)
Supporters of this bill argue that if opponents repeal this, they should also repeal SS & Medicare.

I'm game.
I nearly barfed when Pelosi said they would join the ranks of the creators of Social Security & Medicare last night. I couldn't believe anyone could actually say that with a straight face!
But yes, that's probably the main sticking point with the law experts.

The Supreme Court rejected SS and Medicare several times - FDR had a tantrum and threatened to expand the size of the court and fill it with judges that agreed with him. Congress stopped him but one of the judges flipped his vote....
The biggest differencis that we aren't forced to buy those programs through a third party broker.

Well... they SHOULD also repeal SS & Medicare.
But yes, the fascist mandatory purchase requirement does make this even worse.

Yes, they should. These are socialist programs too. However, as Ron Paul says, they should be slowly phased out and replaced with private personal investment funds. Charity should be our safety net, not the government. That is not their job.
I don't support any slow phasing out, I think it should be eliminated within 2 to 5 years.

That isn't fair to the millions of people who have been paying into it - by force - their entire working lives. It has to be phased out.
