This is How Liberty Dies…to Thunderous Applause (http://mittromneycentral.com/2010/03/21/this-is-how-liberty-dies-to-thunderous-applause/)

Thanks to everyone who did what they could to stop Healthcare, but it's not over yet. We're gunna run these crooks out of our capital in November!

I wonder if Mitt Romney realizes that his presidential aspirations died tonight too?

Why are people so obsessed with quoting Natalie Portman?

She was a big Hillary Supporter, probably has no idea what "liberty" even means.

Natalie Portman might not, but the character she played sure did. ;) Remember to separate actors from the characters.

Why wait until November? They rig the voting machines, they rig the rules, they rig the media, they rig every god damn thing they can, and you are going to wait until November? November is the only time we get to fight for our freedom in your vision? I don't want to wait.

I can do that thanks, its still weird. Her character equated liberty with democracy anyways.

Quite possibly the dumbest thing I've read all day.

BTW and slightly off topic, Scott Brown helped how, exactly?

Why is that? All I'm saying is that it annoys me, and its not even a good quote.

Yes I know "her character" said it, I've fucking seen Star Wars, enough times to know all the characters in the movie(s) were in love with Democracy.

If I said "I find your lack of faith disturbing" would you say I was quoting James Earl Jones or Darth Vader?

Your original post implies that actors must know and believe everything their characters do.

Because she's not really Queen Amidala. If I said "I find your lack of faith disturbing" would you say I was quoting James Earl Jones or Darth Vader?

Obviously, that wasn't my point.

If Janeane Garofalo, or some other really liberal bitch played a role in a movie which just so happened to have her utter the word "liberty", would that make it a good quote worthy of constant use?

Individual liberty seems to be a rather irrelevant concept to the Star Wars universe too, the first time I saw episode three I thought they might as well use the word democracy in that quote instead of liberty, its probably what her character meant.

No, he'll run on platform of fixing it. Not repealing it, fixing it. He's a fan of mandates, you know. Or even better, he'll run on a platform of overturning it, then compromise once he gets in. Republicans don't shrink government.

Jim DeMint already introduced legislation to repeal it. LOL...

you have lost the argument, it's just a quote.. you are overanalyzing (and the analysis is poor) ;)

LOL. Star Wars quotes are allowed in general topics but "conspiracy" theories aren't.
Yeah, guess conspiracy theorists might not give us a bad a name as geeks.

Paul Giamatti is pretty liberal and he played John Adams. I suppose there are no lines in that mini-series worth quoting.

Uh... because liberty does die with thunderous applause.

It's stolen with the flick of a pen and never given back without the barrel of a gun...never.

Yes, the Democrats and Republicans are always fixing each others legislation. I can't wait to hear Republicans say how it needs to be "fixed".

I hate to tell you this, friend, but about 95 percent of the American public equate the two also.

For that matter, so do our elected representatives in Washington D.C. How many times have you heard our politicians talk about "our democracy" or how "this is a democracy, after all."

Anyone who actually understands the difference is a rare minority in today's world.

Mitt Romney: The Campaign to Repeal the Health-Care Bill Begins Today (http://mittromneycentral.com/2010/03/22/mitt-romney-the-campaign-to-repeal-the-health-care-bill-begins-toda/)

Clearly the democrats are trying to hurt efforts to repeal the terrible bill by comparing it to what Mitt proposed in Massachusetts. We can't let them do that! Mitt wouldn't have been the first major figure to call for repeal of the bill if it was his plan! They are very different and only people who are liberal, socialist, or ignorant think otherwise.

Speaking of liberals talking about history, what does everyone think of the new history channel show "America: The Story of Us" so far? I think it's been pretty fair except for the focusing on that one general Washington used who might have been gay and talking about things that happened 300 millions years ago which always bugs me. Also, I could do without Henry Louis Gates, Sheryl Crow, and others throwing their own two cents every five minutes...
