I'm not from Ireland, but many of my ancestors were, which is a source of considerable pride to me considering that Medieval Ireland held one of the most effective and longest-lasting experiments in freedom and voluntary government in human history...over 1,000 years!

This sort of thread makes me think....how many American politicians have dedicated followings overseas? I'm sure there were some people who were happy for Obama to win, but on this forum alone we have a lot of members from Ireland, Denmark, Sweden, Australia...

From my observation of other forums, Hillary Clinton seems to be well-liked in Europe, for whatever reason.

About a year ago I came across a pro-Ron Paul blog from Poland. But Ireland isn't really such a surprise when one considers the close historical ties, including a common language, between Ireland and the U.S..

Yup. From South Dublin.

Well done to South Dublin for electing Shane Ross to the Dail. He is definitely a straight anmd honest talking "common sense" politician.

Pity he won't be able to change anything. The majority of independents are from the left. And not the smart Marxist left, the left that will "make everything better with no cutbacks in welfare" left.

Irish-based psychiatrist wants lithium to be added to our water supply

Is this the official opinion of Labour party? Dr. Moosajee Bhamjee, a former Labour TD, calls for lithium to be added to the Irish water supply. His licence to practice medicine should be revoked, and we should demand answers from the Labour party as well. This is unacceptable.
