Hello..
Our daughter is in a school that is a Reading First school. I have some philosophical views this isn't the right form of education for our daughter. We are thinking of Home schooling, using open enrollment for a Virtual Private School, Private School, or another Non-Reading First Public School..

I have my own arguments about the program. Are there any long term studies done how well or not so well the Reading First program is working?

If I use Open Enrollment, I will likely have to face the School Superintendent why I am doing this. I'd like to know some good points to bring up to the Superintendent why this isn't a good program. I suppose either way it is my choice and I don't have to answer why I am pulling my child out the local school district. :)

Caveat: Both are government publications and their conclusions should be considered with that in mind. Don't worry about superintendents, or any other bureaucrats. More importantly, don't try and change their minds!
