Bouchard Proposes Government Changes

WHTC News
March 9, 2010

Michael Bouchard, Republican candidate for Governor, outlined his plans for making major changes in Lansing. Among the highlights of those plans is requiring a super majority vote in the Legislature for tax increases. He also wants to require state agencies to post every check online for taxpayers to review as well as posting state employee salary and benefit information. Bouchard wants the Legislature to shift to part-time and he wants a requirement that the state budget is in place by May 15th or legislators will have their pay docked.

Sounds like a bunch of gimmicks, good ones, but that doesn't mean he's really a limited government Republican.

I know nothing about him. What's his history?

Is he a Republican of libertarian?
The two are usually not equal.

Bouchard ran for Senate against Debbie Stabenow in 2006. He's not in the mold of a liberty-minded candidate. From what I can remember he's your typical Republican.

That said, he's better than Granholm.

I also bumped into him at my high school football game when he was there for the pre-game ceremony to honor a troop from my town who had perished in battle. I said excuse me, he said it's quite alright. Great story, huh?

Are you using fonts with non restrictive licensing? Best to make sure of that, you'd be surprised how many people have been sued because they didn't know their font was copyrighted.

Bouchard talks a good game, but it seems that he is always just looking for a promotion. He has ran for higher office in just about every election cycle for the last decade or more.

Just another run of the mill politician...
