Students illustrated what they say is a big waste on campus by hiring three bounce houses, a DJ and a mechanical bull, and providing horse rides and a pony petting zoo. But here's the twist: this $3,000 catered protest against wasting student funds was funded by student funds.

The group "UNR Students for Liberty" says that was the point. Member Barry Belmont said they "wanted to waste money. Most people don't see the waste of ASUN (the Associated Students of the University of Nevada), but here we have 191 pizzas."

Students for Liberty member John Russell says he saw the waste first hand when he worked for ASUN. "I can't tell you how many billboards they bought to promote homecoming. So this is a more in your face way to show how wasteful ASUN, and the whole university is."

ASUN Director Patrick Delaplain says even this protest wasn't squandering money. He said the Students for Liberty "learned a lot about planning, budgeting. I couldn't count this as a failure."
