Duncan Hunter up now

not really that funny, but seeing Hunter saying he hasn't experienced brain damage was kind of sad.

loved Grayson's tie.

i wonder if he (Hunter) really believes that this resolution is psychologically damaging to the troops - moreso than war.

Pro-war guys talking a lot about America's "destiny". I guess he thinks we're destined to rule the world.

The Founders charted a very different destiny, I would say.

I hate how people tend to give us all these glitterly speeches about destiny, pretending America is only fighting for freedom and democracy (as though we're somehow Camelot with its slogan "Might For Right!"), and about how glorious our wars are.

And then you've got morons saying the terrorists are going to put propaganda up on youtube...

Dennis Kucinich is quoting Paul Craig Roberts talking about documents he saw tying the desire to invade Afghanistan with oil and gas exploration. And he just brought up UNOCAL and the pipeline route! Wahooooo! Can't wait to see what Ron Paul had to say. And Kucinch just quoted "The Grand Chessboard"!

BenIsForRon
03-10-2010, 03:27 PM
Yeah Kucinich just got to the heart of the matter: THE PIPELINES! He also quoted Zbigniew Brzezinski from his book "The Grand Chessboard". This whole fiasco is about control of middle eastern oil and gas supplies.

I am also about to write another article giving out quotes from this exact video since it's recent. Gotta do that since I now run a professional media outlet. Gotta bring out the truth :)

Ron Paul deserves the media publishing his words on the war. I may even contact the mainstream media asking them to bring out what Ron Paul said today..or wait now it's yesterday but still I am happy Ron Paul said the current ongoing wars are illegal.

He definitely deserves a article hand typed by me. I will publish it and show you it and he definitely deserves a thank you for all he has done for our country. At least hes thinking with his heart and head instead of his greed bones and lobbying. Ron Paul thinks with his own mind (Hes not a puppet at least I hope he isn't), and his Oath, and his duties instead of having his orders sent to him by the special interest groups.

It will be a shame once his term runs out. Ron Paul is a constitutional president.

Yeah, fuck Kirk for saying that even having a DEBATE is bad for the troops! Dennis was right "We've waited 8 years to have this debate, should we wait another 8 years?"

-last night most were shocked by this guy's powerful blow to Kucinich and angered on both LibertyForest real-time threads as the War Powers Resolution was being debated in congress.

-i just happened upon this: NOW i understand his motivation and hatred for Kucinich...now it's all clearer...

Accomplishments of a Pro-Israel Champion
Upgrading U.S.-Israel Missile Defense Cooperation

Congressman Kirk led the bipartisan effort to secure “Eyes in the Sky,” real-time satellite early-warning data, for the State of Israel. With access to “Eyes in the Sky,” Israel’s warning time of an Iranian missile launch grew from less than one minute to a full 11 minutes.

In 2008, Kirk led a bipartisan effort to deploy the X-Band AN/TPY-2 radar system to Israel. The radar, America’s most advanced system, doubledIsrael’s intercept range – giving the Jewish state at least two engagement windows to bring down an Iranian salvo.

Earlier last year, Kirk helped reverse the Administration’s cuts to Israel’s Arrow-3 upper tier missile defense system – securing full funding for the program to continue.

The Leader on Stopping Iran’s Nuclear Program

In 2005, Congressman Kirk became the first member of Congress to propose a gasoline restriction as the most effective way to stop Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. In 2005 and 2006, Kirk introduced bipartisan resolutions calling for an international gasoline restriction. In 2007, he authored the Iran Sanctions Enhancement Act to extend current U.S. sanctions to the provision of gasoline.

Last year, Congressman Kirk authored the Iran Diplomatic Enhancement Act, expanding economic sanctions against Iran to include refined petroleum producers, suppliers, carriers and insurers. This legislation as incorporated into Chairman Berman’s Iran Refined Petroleum Sanctions Act. Kirk is also the lead cosponsor of the Frank-Kirk Iran Sanctions Enabling Act of 2009, which would authorize state and local governments to direct divestiture from, and prevent investment in, companies with investments of $20,000,000 or more in Iran’s energy sector.

In 2009, the House passed two key Iran-related Kirk amendments: one prohibiting Export-Import Bank financing of projects controlled by companies providing gasoline to Iran, and another requiring the Securities and Exchange Commission to publicly disclose business dealings with or in Iran conducted by U.S.-listed companies.

Keeping Taxpayer Money Away from Hamas and Hezbollah

Congressman Kirk authored appropriations language mandating a first-ever comprehensive review by the Government Accountability Office of Cash Assistance and Emergency Cash Assistance programs run by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency.

Kirk also ordered an Inspector General investigation into reports that more than $140,000 was provided by the U.S. Agency for International Development to the Hamas-controlled Islamic University in Gaza. He later authored appropriations language tightening anti-terror vetting language to include institutions that have terrorist trustees—thereby closing the funding loophole to Islamic University.

I think this is the You Tube:

YouTube - This War Is Illegal! Ron Paul Afghanistan War Debate (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vyiOGVLfy7w)

Partial transcript.

The Taliban didn't launch this attack. The government of Afghanistan didn't launch it. The best evidence is Of those 20 people, 2 of them may have passed through Afghanistan. A lot of the planning was done in Germany and Spain and the training was done in the United States. Oh yes. The image is that they all conspired, a small group of people, with Bin Laden and made this decision. Right now the evidence is not there to prove that. But certainly Bin Laden was very sympathetic, loved it and wanted to take credit for it. And one of the reasons he wanted to take credit was that it would do three things for what he wanted. First it would enhance his recruitment efforts for Al Qaeda and his attacks against Western powers who have become overly involved in control of the middle east and have had a plan for 20 years to remake the middle east. He also said the consequence of 9/11 will be that we will bog the American people in a no win war and demoralize the people. And they're working on it. There's still a lot of moral support, but there are a lot of people that...[realize?] this country is totally bankrupt, and we're spending trillions of dollars on these useless wars, the people will become demoralized because history shows all empires end because they expand too far and the bankrupt the country just like the Soviet system came down. He also said that the dollars spent will bankrupt this country. And we are bankrupt. And yet there is no hesitation to quit spending one cent overseas. We build embassies in Bahgdad and Kabul, billion dollar embassies, fortresses, and it's all "necessary". And nobody is concerned. If people were concerned about the disasterous effect of debt on this countr we would change this foreign policy and we would be safer for it. We are not safer because of this foreign policy. It is a policy of intervention that has been going on for a long time and it will eventually end. This war is illegal, immoral and unconstitutional. The least you can say is that it's illegitimate. There is no real purpose at this. The Taliban did not attack us on 9/11. After we went into Afghanistan, immediately the concerns were shifted to remaking the middle east. We went into Iraq. Used this as a justification. It was nothing more than an excuse. Most Americans still believe Saddam Hussein had something to do with 9/11 and I imagine most Americans believe the Taliban had something to do with 9/11 and it's not true. We need to change our foreign policy and come back to our senses and defend this country and not pretend to be the policeman of the world.

Rock on Ron Paul!

Juan McCain

Yes . . . unfortunately, this is now how some 356 Democrats and Republicans have shunned this onto Obama . . .
