didn't like Conservatives. Goldwater was as Libertarian as the Pauls:

Maybe we should refer to Rush as Rush Rockafeller.

Goldwater was not as libertarian as Ron Paul. He supported an aggressive foreign policy, much like William F. Buckley.

Goldwater voted for Eisenhower instead of Taft at the RNC convention. He talked a good talk to base so he could be a good poser though.

He later went on and called it his biggest mistake.

How do you see Ron more Libertarian? I doubt Ron as come out as strong on social liberty as Barry did. Granted, Barry was more verbal.

When did he say that? Barry seemed warlike to me.

He was also labeled as the first of the "New Right" that did not represent the anti-war Right win coalition that opposed FDR.

yes, sen. barry goldwater thought LBJ to be a "wimp" or a "wus" if we use today's slang
yet he was one of the hardcore champions of liberty, our freedoms and our Bill of Rights.

Barry also didn't want to eliminate the income tax. Yes he would've been the best President last century if he had won (Calvin being the possible exception), however he was not quite as ideologically pure" as Ron.... not that it really matters.
