View Full Version : Voting Machines Tracking Your Vote?

I've seem a lot of conversation around how voting machines are unreliable and don't leave a paper trail, but I have a bigger concern. When I voted in 06, we used voting machines. When I checked in, they looked me up, wrote down a registration number next to my name and on a piece of paper that I then entered into the machine to vote.

So now they have a number next to my name and how I voted. What is to say they aren't keeping records of how we vote? How do we know they aren't currently or plan to use this against us?

I have wondered about that also. I didn't *think* they actually recorded the registration number next to the name on the list... but I wasn't really paying that much attention the last time I voted, and others have said that they do...

I have said, mostly jokingly, that we're probably all going to be classified as terrorists if Hillary wins in '08. But I hadn't considered the voting machines...
