Doesn't the Union Leader have the highest circ of all of them?

If so, I'd say go with that one.

I think I would go with the Union, that is sold all over NH

MsDoodahs

skiing, if you do the Union Leader, I'd definitely go with guaranteed placement - because I think Dr. Paul himself "spanked" one of their editorial writers just today, and if you don't buy guaranteed placement, they may try to bury the ad.

Just a thought..

Well the problem is I thought we could get into 3-4 different papers and that's what is intended

The rates for the other papers are not comparable to the Concord Monitor rates, and the Monitor is a bigger ad by 3/4"!!!

The Monitor lady was extremely friendly. She's even going to send me a few copies of the paper. It will publish tomorrow.

We could do Union-Leader on A-3, but then we wouldn't have much left over

Color, depending on the type, is $200-300 more

COLOR
One color, plus b/w rate . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $220.00
Two color, plus b/w rate . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $330.00
Process color, plus b/w rate . . . . $10 per inch
$100 min. charge, $550 max charge
a. No minimum size for color

Just my thinking here...

The Leader covers the whole state - AND the Leader has this bit of a battle going between their editor and Ron.

Perfect timing to alert any who are impressed with Dr. Paul what they need to do in order to vote for him.

LibertyEagle

Do they offer a smaller size ad than 1/4 page?

By doing the Union Leader, you saturate the entire state. Use other funds that come in to place ads in other papers and consider them gravy.

JMO.

Do they offer a smaller size ad than 1/4 page?

Yes, but that is their cheapest rate and they had one spot left for tomorrow. Anything else and in every other paper the earliest is Wednesday. So I had the PDF for the Monitor already ready-to-go, and bought that one so it could publish Tuesday in the Monitor.

But yea, I could check the rates for the other newspapers for the next step down... although I think any less than a 1/4 page ad has less effect

skiingff
10-08-2007, 07:35 AM
OK - So an A-3 ad in the Union-Leader?

We could do that.

Nevermind. Forget What I Said. I'm Clearly Still Half Asleep. Sorry.

skiingff
10-08-2007, 07:43 AM
I'm not talking about the Concord Monitor. I am talking about the Union-Leader, who you said would make the Ad so much larger.

No all the quotes are for the quarter-page ad Linda made, dimensions are 6.5 x 10.5 inches in the Monitor and 5.75 x 10.5 inches in every other newspaper.

We could check on the rates for smaller than a 1/4 page ad, then Linda would have to re-design it

Just go with it. It looks good and those are some big ads. :)

Great work you are doing THANKS!

What you have is fine, Skiingff. If we ask Linda to redesign, we're going to miss the window for running the Ad and the whole purpose of it was to announce the cutoff date.

Union Leader, all the way. Look out, NH, Ron Paul is HOT!

skiingff

Does anyone here live in NH?

Which would be better, the Keene Sentinel or the Valley News?

Circulations
Sentinel: 13,026
Valley: 16,688

For the same price. HOWEVER, the Valley covers both sides of the river, eg parts of Vermont as well as New Hampshire, and I wasn't able to obtain circulation info that was state-specific.

MsDoodahs
10-08-2007, 09:56 AM
Is that for an addional ad, Skiing?

If so, what's the price for the Valley News? Someone mentioned that somewhere to me as a good paper for RP ads...:)

LibertyEagle

Is there enough money left over to place an ad in one of these?

Yes, it was placed in the Valley News with some feedback by NH residents. The Valley News coverage area includes Hanover, NH, which is the home of the Ivy-League Dartmouth College. Overall an affluent area, and more libertarian leaning than Keene.

Done. I requested the first couple pages in either the main section of the newspaper or the first couple pages of the Local & State section. The Valley News is set for Wednesday.

The Concord Monitor is set for Tuesday. Again, I requested the first couple pages of Local & State, I was told by the advertising rep as well as Linda and Jim that this would reach the most people and be the best demographic.

The Union-Leader... I'm waiting to hear back from them.

With the union cross check with Max on the prices they gave him. I called and got a totally different quote both with the full page ad and the inserts. He got a much better deal than I was quoted.

As far as I know, the Union-Leader ad is set to publish tomorrow on page A-2. However, they haven't taken my money yet...

Oh yea and it took mad negotiating skills to 1. get them to publish it TOMORROW (less than 15 hrs from now) and 2. give me 35% off, getting A-2 ad placement for the normal ad placement price, instead of $1938 for guaranteed placement on A-2 I got $1460. But keep in mind, I haven't paid yet
