Supposedly, he didn't really. Reid agreed to "permit a vote" on Bunning's amendment to take the money from existing funds if he'd stop obstructing. And then when he did, Reid broke his word and denied a vote.

GOP Bosses were twisting his arm....

between the media slandering him and his own Party selling him out he just let it go...

no one wants to be a hero anymore......

That was pretty interesting. Bunning spent most of the time talking about how perilously close we are to a total financial meltdown/dollar crisis. He brought up the fall of the Roman empire and Hannity said Bunning was scaring the living daylights out of him. I don't see any way in hell that Bunning does not endorse Rand after hearing him in that interview.
