Rand on CNN Rick's List . . .

Damn, I wish Rand wouldn't be so dodgy on foreign policy. I really hope he's just doing it for the primary, and in reality he really wants to get the troops home ASAP.

I got on just before the break started. What did they cover?

He has to set his tone in a way to avoid sounding pacifist in a conservative/neocon state.

"Are you a libertarian? ... But are you more of a libertarian than a Republican?"

That was a paraphrase, see the video for exact wording...

Rick, please stick that pen in your eye instead of your mouth next time, you smarmy ass.

Rand was starting to give us some account or an anecdote from his voting experience as a Republican in 1976 . .

oops, Rick Sanchez interrupts - we don't get it - blah

I gotta hand it to Rand, he is incredibly politically savvy. He handled that libertarian question with finesse.

And Rick Sanchez is like the cokehead at a party who has to tell you something awesome.

Rick was incredibly rude and made an ass of himself interrupting and raising his voice to a scientist guest who was talking about the pending tsunami in Hawaii the other day. One of his gems was this:

Scientist : "Waves have been reported in some areas of up to 20 meters:

Rick: "What is that in English?" ( He wasn't being sarcastic, just stupid)

Ummmm. 20 meters in english is still 20 meters.

rest of his show until Wolfe Blitzer comes on still playing in the background . . .

story about Medina and the wild Texas GOP Governor "shootout" coming up . . .

Ummmm. 20 meters in english is still 20 meters.

That logic was lost on Rick. Not only could he not do some simple math himself, he didn't even know how to word the question properly.

"For our viewers used to the American Standard of Measurement, how many yards or feet would that be?"

I'd like to see that guy ask Palin if she's a neocon...as if that would ever happen. :(

Ummmm. 20 meters in english is still 20 meters.

maybe he meant english standard. 20 meters = 21.87 yards.
yards would be considered english standard.

I wish he had the clip. I think he was just continuing to be an ass.

I don't know the simple calculation!

when in doubt and specifics don't matter, a meter is about the same as a yard.

1 meter = 1.0936133 yards.

Great job getting both of these up . . .

(at 3:25 of Part 2 of 2)
Rand : " I attended the 1976 Republican convention . . ."
Sanchez: " but do you lean more as a libertarian ?"

Chri's sake Mr. Sanchez . . . let the future Senator from Kentucky finish his anecdotal account from '76

In spite of some of these antics and the style of Rick Sanchez . . .

Rand Paul did very well on CNN - and as Sanchez said . . . "the first time we've had you on"

Along with the article below, a very good day in the national media and press for Rand, imho.
