Sorry Peter.

I got out of the Euro a while back. I agree with Schiff concerning the Australian Dollar, Canadian Dollar, and Chinese Yuan. But I have not liked the Euro in the last year or so ... and even less the Pound. I sold a Pound investment in my EuroPacific account a little over a year ago, despite being coached not to sell.

The thing I can't figure out is how Europe forgot about CENTURIES of animosity when developing the common currency.

It's like a large family that has fought bitterly for decades coming together to start a business from scratch.

How does that make since?

Germany offering cheap credit to all the PIGS goverments.

And now "curiously" Germany is going to rescue the PIGS from their busting bubbles.

The Big Boys are Shorting the Euro

Ummm....how old is that video? According to CFTC reports, the commercial traders ("big boys") are long the Euro and short the dollar. It is the non-commercial group (general public, small traders, etc.) that is taking the other side of the trade:

COMMERCIAL TRADERS POSITIONS: (2/23/2010)

Euro: Long: 135,199 Short: 56,953
http://cftc.gov/dea/futures/deacmesf.htm

US Dollar: Long: 6,337 Short: 47,732
http://cftc.gov/dea/futures/deanybtsf.htm

I can't get to youtube at work because youtube is blocked here, but I don't see how this video claims that the "big boys" are short the Euro unless the video is either wrong or out of date.

Ya I'm not sure why people are trusting the MSM all of a sudden.

Who cares what the "big boys" do anyway? When they announce it, that just means it is propaganda. When the "big boys" do something and they don't announce it, wake me up

Here is more info that is probably not true since it is being reported by the "mainstream media" :

The Justice Department last week sent a letter to several top hedge funds advising that it “has opened an investigation into agreements among various hedge funds that trade euro contracts,” The Wall Street Journal reports. The hedge funds, including Greenlight Capital, Paulson & Co., SAC Capital Advisors and Soros Fund Management, were all directed to “preserve all documents” relating to the euro, including trading records and e-mails.

Currency trading has always seemed to me like a game rich people play to get even richer. I've never trusted it..

I do have some weak dollar plays, notable PM and BP in my portfolio, which essentially do "currency trading" for me every time they pay a dividend.. That's about as far as I go.

The collapse of the euro is going to hurt a lot of people. But at least it has the potential to show how disastrous collectivist economics are, especially on such a huge scale.

Oh, and California is the next Greece.

Exactly, when networks like cnbc or bloomberg recommend investing in something or tell you what a big name is investing in, that mean that the boat on that investment has sailed. They are always behind by a 3 - 4 months it seems like.

"It's not a conspiracy theory!" says the cute reporter lady.

Well no shit, it's not a theory because you have the fucking notes from these meetings in your hand!
