OGDEN -- Hazardous material crews were called to an Internal Revenue Service building at 1973 Rulon White Boulevard this morning.

Security guards did not allow entrance to the building and declined to answer questions.

At least three pieces of equipment from the Ogden Fire Department is on the scene.

A spokeswoman for the FBI said the bureau is investigating.

This story will be updated when more information is available.

OGDEN, Utah (AP) -- Hazardous materials crews have been called to an Internal Revenue Service building in Ogden, Utah.

Media reports said a suspicious substance was found in the building Monday and that part of it was evacuated while other parts were locked down.

Several emergency vehicles were outside the building. Video on the Web site of KSL-TV showed two people being taken out on stretchers.

The FBI was involved in the investigation but said it didn't have any information to release. The Weber County sheriff's office said it did had no information on the incident.

The two- or three-story building is in an industrial area and is surrounded by a fence in Ogen, about 35 miles north of Salt Lake City. No signs on the building indicate it is an IRS facility.

I also read at another source that a white powder was found, not sure if that's reliable though.

Was the suspicious substance a pile of federal reserve notes? Those things are literally and figuratively toxic and should be treated as hazardous materials.

Could be. I think an agent just got crazy and OD'd on some blow that he was snorting through hundred dollar bills.

I was thinking a great way to discourage government would be the use of epic stink bombs at disagreeable agencies. I know of some (non-toxic) compounds that are so stinky you can smell them at PPTrillion levels, so a small vial would clear out a building for weeks more than likely, as the whole building was gone over with bleach.

A much better solution that violence, I think. A trick from their own playbook.
