BTW, while I've been critical of Schiff's campaign's performance lately, I am psyched about this debate. Schiff has, as the article says, a gift for gab. I am sure that he will SHINE like the sun itself at a live debate. Which is GREAT considering that McMahon doesn't know shit, and Simmons, while well-versed, has no style at all, so Schiff will be able to talk circles around them both.

Actually, I thought last night's Democratic debate was one of the least moderated debates I've ever seen. More than once Merrick Alpert turned to Richard Blumenthal and said something like "Tell me Mr. Blumenthal, how has your lawsuits helped create jobs?" and the moderated did not intervene and Blumenthal answered the question. Granted, this was with 2 candidates.. Tonight there are 3 and a different moderator so we shall see but I wouldn't call it a joint press conference.

On foreign policy I wish he would have been more like Ron Paul and talked about blow back.

Saw him moving back and forth nervously but it was his first political debate so he had to be more formal in his manner, but next time I think he'll learn from his mistakes and improve.

I would say an 8.5. He was the best candidate of the group. Not just my bias, I thought he gave the most specific answers, whereas the other candidates just talked platitudes and didn't get specific. He could have been a little more specific on his awesome healthcare plan though. He should have talked more on mandates and why they drive up prices. all of them talked about mandates but didn't describe how federal mandates specifically drive up prices. If he was more specific there I would have given him a 9. His closing line gives him a half point. But a 10 is reserved for Ron Paul really, he is the only one I would give a 10 in a debate and he doesn't always get a 10.

He talked about how our foreign policy is bankrupting us and talked against nation building. You have to remember the audience he is talking to. He has to shape non interventionism in a way that the majority of voters find attractive. If he can tie nation building in Iraq and Afghanistan to Obama and deficit spending he will gain votes. That is how I have converted people, I bring up blowback later. However, if I am talking to a liberal, I will bring up blowback.

I had no problem with his brevity. They were all pretty brief, I think it was the format. Schiff showed a great amount of energy - the only candidate on stage to do so. He also spoke cleanly, articulated well, and made his point each and every time. I loved it. He did really well.

The debate was pretty good. I would have loved to see Peter use his famous YouTube - Peter Schiff Analogies (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vweLBpE4mso) in this debate to get the crowd more into it. I would like to see him open up his personality alot more but i understand why he didn't in the first debate.
