Jack Cafferty is AWESOME. He basically told all of his viewers that they were idiots if they didn't agree with Ron Paul. But I'm paraphrasing. He's also the guy who did that "should we be listening more to what Ron Paul has to say?" segment back in '07 that remains one of the best news videos on Paul I've seen to date.

From what I saw of Cafferty interviewing Paul, it was a grand slam. I didn't see the beginning though, but both of them were in absolute agreement, laughing at times at how ridiculous things have gotten. Can't wait for the Tube.

That was a very good (though short) interview. Very positive reception from Jack Cafferty. He even said he wished RP would run again! :D Too bad the message of the interview, and the show, was negative..."Broken Government" and the country being broke.

That was a phenomenal interview! I like how Cafferty seemed pissed off when he mentioned the people booing Ron at CPAC and when Ron told him people in the Republican Party aren't interested in why he has so many young supporters. Then Cafferty said he wanted Ron to run for president again.

Yes, that was a really good interview. When even Jack Cafferty is starting to agree that big government is of necessity bad government, the Liberty movement is definitely making progress!

I think Jack Cafferty has ALWAYS been a closet Ron Paul supporter.

And who can forget this video?

YouTube - Jack Cafferty: "Should More People Be Listening To Ron Paul?" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYEQCVsPr4Y)

His bio on Wikipedia suggests that he believes war crimes were perpetuated by the Bush administration, and he constantly calls the Democrats out for not carrying out what they were elected to do in 2006.

Cafferty is definitely paid to play the role of the disgruntled old man fed up with politics, but i still like him nontheless.

Hardly closet, he came out and said it. Excellent, excellent interview. Great to have a true friend in the MSM.

I mentioned this about Mr. Ratigan, so I might as well say it here, too. Mr. Cafferty seems like a nice guy, and he did an incredible job with this interview, but, please, let's avoid becking any more media personalities. Please avoid any and all emotional attachment to these individuals. If a media personality is deserving, in your opinion, maybe send a 'thank you' email or something to convey your sentiments, but please don't assume that a friendship exists, despite any flowery rhetoric.

I am not, of course, suggesting that any individual here has becked Mr. Beck, Mr. Ratigan, Mr. Cafferty, or anyone else. I just wanted to throw this out there.

Beck (v) (yes, I made it up lol): the act of attaching oneself emotionally to a media [or public] personality, under the assumption that said personality supports some favorable cause. Individuals who have becked a media personality are often found irrationally defending said personality instead of allowing that personality to defend themselves. The sense that one has been betrayed by a media personality is a symptom of becking.

The Patriot
03-01-2010, 12:44 AM
He promoted Ron Paul last campaign. I think he is genuine. Beck is different, just is a neo con who plays the libertarian for the tea party crowd and the liberty movement. Cafferty is a guy on a journey politically. He has been a liberal democrat, supported going into Iraq, now opposes Iraq, supported obama as the lesser of two evils, called obama out on not following his promises, supports Paul's foreign policy and is talking up his fiscal policy now. He kind of reminds of the average American in a sense. I don't think he is part of some media conspiracy. I think he is genuine.

someperson
03-01-2010, 12:58 AM
Oh, I remember his statements during the 2008 campaign, too. I think he's probably sincere, as well. However, I'm trying to ensure that we keep the focus of our attention on policies. Some individuals begin to equate and link "good ideas" with a personality, and make disastrous policy transitions along with that personality due to their emotional attachment. I just think if we avoid this situation, on principle, regardless of how sincere or insincere a given personality is, we'll be better off.

Good interview. He has usually been favorable to Ron, although i remember him complaining that he should have dropped out of the presidential primaries sooner, but that could just be the curmudgeon in him.
