Awesome. A HuffPo writer defends the RP exchange with Bernanke.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/j-bradley-jansen/bizarre-bernanke_b_475230.html

I remember when the Debates were going on in 2008 and each candidate was allowed to ask one question to another candidate in one of them. Ron asked McCain a question about the President's Working Group, etc., and completely befuddled him, along with pretty much everybody else. Me, included. Some posters were going "Ron could have asked a much better question". It wasn't until a few days later that I realized that the question he had asked was intended not for McCain, but for the American People to look up themselves. It was like he was planting bread crumbs for us.

I remember another video where he was grilling Bernanke. I understood that he was grilling Bernanke, and that Ben was uncomfortable, but I couldn't get the why part, at least not with the knowledge I've gained over the years on this forum and elsewhere. Looking back at that video now, it's amazing how much more I get out of the exchange between the two. I'm sure I am not explaining myself clearly, but I wonder if others have felt the same way.

The exchange Ron had with Bernanke today hasn't made the waves I thought it would here, given that he asked questions relating to WaterGate and Saddam Hussein, as well as whether we would bail out Greece). Most outlets were ready to mock him immediately, but as you can see by this story via WSJ, at least one of the negative commentators starts thinking twice and concedes that he doesn't know for certain, asking for links to help him gather more info.

What I'm trying to get at is that Ron is a hell of a lot smarter than most people give him credit for, including us at times, and I am wondering if this is a calculated question on his part to get people talking about the Fed's potential role in Watergate, in dealings with Saddam Hussein, with the Bailouts, and now with Greece possibly. Watergate just seemed to come out of nowhere.

The majority of the comments below this blog entry don't look like they're from Paul supporters. And they're telling. The tipping point is SOOO close that I can taste it.

The Atlantic Wire -"Happy Hour Vid: Ron Paul Sees Fed's Hand in Watergate, Saddam Hussein" (http://www.theatlanticwire.com/opinions/view/opinion/Happy-Hour-Vid-Ron-Paul-Sees-Feds-Hand-in-Watergate-Saddam-Hussein-2641)

The US did give money to Saddam Hussein in the 1980's, as well as sold discounted military equipment. - wallyz

Wild! But I have to say Bernanke looked genuinely taken aback. Also, I think Barney Frank's comments might have been an act of compassion designed to cover Ron Paul's momentary lapse of, whatever-the-f--ck-that was {Straw Poll today, tomorrow the world!} - zenazeller

Barney was actually taking a jab at Ron Paul by suggesting that two Republican presidents, Nixon and Reagan, were behind these non-existant conspiracies. Just watch Ron Paul's reaction. - Ben

Enjoy folks. Remember Ron Paul always tells the truth.

Good for Paul. The media will mock and the society will become exposed to new nonsense that the Fed is up to.

Ron Paul may well been right, at least about Watergate. It certain merits at least some questions. The story was reported by the Milwaukee Sentinel back in 1982. See here:

The lack of skepticism or even mild curiousity from the MSM when it comes to Bernanke's statements is really quite striking. Since when did Bernanke become a sacred cow?

By the way, there were four excellent links there that we can circulate which argue that Ron's question was not far off base at all, like spun by most MSM outlets.

I've often thought, with how much Ron knows, what else does he know that he keeps to himself. for instance he never mentions specific people within the Fed or Government but oh boy I bet he knows a lot of juicy stuff. He drops hints sometimes, what else does he know that he keeps in his arsenal need he ever tell all. He's a beacon, things get brought to his attention from all over the world.
