Sununu says he warned Emanuel a year ago during a chat-and-chew for former chiefs of staff organized by Josh Bolten, Bush the Younger’s last chief of staff. “It’s kind of an exclusive club. … We had a heart-to-heart talk there. … I told him, be ready and take the blame for everything!” Sununu said, before dissolving into a good 20 seconds of giddy laughter.
“I actually think Rahm is doing a very good job; the problem I think he has is a president who has set an impossible agenda,” said Sununu, who also served as governor of New Hampshire.
