although Ron Paul is running as a republican, Dr. Paul has a large democrat/independent following. Because of his stance on war, civil liberties, and torture: I'd bet that a larger portion of democrats/independents support him than republicans.
that being said, if he runs in 2012, make sure to remind supporters that if they are not republican to consider changing their party affiliation to republican just so that they can support him in the republican primaries. --most supporters probably wouldn't think of this till the last minute-- which would be too late.
having additional democrat/independent voters support him in the republican primary could mean the difference in his being selected as the republican 2012 nominee.
