baseball cards? lol

George Will is a huge baseball fan; I figure it is a lot better than sending him flowers.

I caught that part of the show......

I was impressed that they were talking about him like he was a real candidate finally, instead of just someone who's "popular on the internet".

I wonder if this is what Paul was talking about when he said a good third quarter of fundraising would be worth more than 10 million in advertising.

Let's all do what we can to help him double it in the fourth quarter!

I'd be all for sending the guy some thanks and baseball cards.......

I don't know how to get ahold of him, but I think writes for the Washington Post?

Maybe we could send them to:

It was about a week ago that someone posted a late 70's pic of Ron wearing a Houston Astros uniform. A google image search brings up nothing.

Before I fully praise G. Will, I think he needs to retract some of that "cheerful anachronism" BS from earlier in the year. That is good, though.

Somebody really needs to take that photo and design a baseball card, with a modern headshot photo on the back and his "stats" ... ie. slim jim-like lines plus any numbers.

The front needs to have a early 80s look and mention his position: president and team: US ... plus the fact that he is running for the 2008 election

Wha? Ha? Did I miss something here? What is that picture from? Did the good Dr. used to play pro or semi-pro ball?

For any of you wondering who George Will's a fan of besides our man Paul, I found this quote from a speech by Will:

I grew up in Champaign, Ill., midway between Chicago and St. Louis. At an age too tender for life-shaping decisions, I made one. While all my friends were becoming Cardinals fans, I became a Cub fan. My friends, happily rooting for Stan Musial, Red Schoendienst and other great Redbirds, grew up cheerfully convinced that the world is a benign place, so of course, they became liberals. Rooting for the Cubs in the late 1940s and early 1950s, I became gloomy, pessimistic, morose, dyspeptic and conservative. It helped out of course that the Cubs last won the World Series in 1908, which is two years before Mark Twain and Tolstoy died. But that means, class of 1998, that the Cubs are in the 89th year of their rebuilding effort, and remember, any team can have a bad moment. So fellow members of the Class of 1998, my last piece of advice is - Mamas don't let your babies grow up to be Cub fans.

Will also might enjoy the fact that Ron delivered milk to Honus Wagner.

Dr. Paul is good friends with Nolan Ryan (former Houston Astros pitcher) and he used to play for the Republican congressional baseball team back in the day. He was pretty good, from what I understand.

OK, about 1/2 an hour ago, the Red Sox won the ALDS, sweeping the Angels.

There HAS to be a way to play this baseball angle in NH!
