Peace Event - War: Do the Peace Movement and Tea Party Movement Agree?

ALBANY -- War, peace and related issues will be on the agenda at a Wednesday night forum that will bring together local leaders of the Tea Party and peace movements.


The forum -- "War: Do the Peace Movement and Tea Party Movement Agree?" -- will be held at 7 p.m. at The Linda, WAMC's Performing Arts Studio at Central Avenue and Quail Street in Albany.

The panelists will participate in a "civil dialogue" on issues of war and peace. The public will be invited to join in discussing and exploring the issues. The free event is open to all.

The discussion, the third in the Capital Region Dialogue series "Right, Left & In Between," will be moderated by Mike Spain, associate editor of the Times Union.

Speakers will include Mabel Leon, Joe Lombardo and Jason Peterson on the left and John Minehan, Steven Vasquez and Patrick Zeigler on the right.

The planning committee for the dialogue series consists of members of these organizations:

MoveOn.org Capital Region Council; Campaign for Liberty (http://www.campaignforliberty.com/); Interfaith Alliance of NYS, 9-12 Project; Capital District Greens; We The People; Bethlehem Neighbors for Peace; John Birch Society (http://www.jbs.org/); Labor Religion Coalition and ARISE (A Regional Initiative Supporting Empowerment).
