Does anyone else find it ironic that we now own CPAC the establishment conservative venue, while Palin owns the Tea Party convention(s)?

I think her influence is over exaggerated. She doesn't own the Tea Parties, otherwise the Tea parties would be backing Mccain instead of Hayworth in Arizona. Unless you just meant the Tea Party conventions.

I think this is an awesome analogy. It makes palin seem smaller and Ron seem bigger. ::thumbs up::

It seems the neocons have started to co-opt the tea parties. Does anyone else feel that way?

Yeah, and apparently we're co-opting the GOP. =)

I dunno... Listening to NPR last night the CPAC coverage consisted of-- "Conservatives are not Republicans" "The GOP is starting to come around more to the Tea Party mindset".

What does it mean in context of the OP?

I hear there was a strong turnout of tea partiers at cpac so they must have been supporting RP instead of Palin.

I think this means we're mainstream, and the neocons are being recognized as the fringe? :P

In all seriousness though, stop believing media propaganda and stunts like a "tea party convention... people across the US in tea parties have all different beliefs and are trying to sort things out. We need to be there to help them understand what's going on, and where to put their energy to make a real difference. Rand is being recognized slowly as a leader in the tea party movement... if he gets elected, he'll have a good influence on tea party beliefs.
