I'm not sure about powerful , but I think his most famous will be "freedom is popular" .

Yes, I'm gonna go with FREEDOM IS POPULAR, too.

And Ron Paul wisely used it as the backdrop of his CPAC speech yesterday...Real freedom should UNITE parties and countries...something the GOP and America seem to be lacking lately.

To paraphrase:

"FREEDOM IS POPULAR, BUT NOT IN PIECES."

For my money, the greatest ever Ron Paul sound bites are those two:

* "No! I'm saying we should take our marching orders from our constitution!"

* "As long as we try to live beyond our means we are destined to live beneath our means.“

But yeah, he'll probably be most remembered for "Freedom is Popular" and maybe even "printing money out of thin air".

Probably "Freedom is popular." It's a message that helped a lot of people to keep up hope even when there seemed no chance of success.

Here's a few of my other favorites that I noted when I heard them -

"The purpose of government, very simply, should be... to protect liberty. Nothing more." - Salt Lake City 9/15/07

"If you're going to do the maximum amount of good for the maximum amount of people, you have to endorse liberty." Nashville 10/6/07

"The purpose of liberty is to unleash the creative energy in each and every one of us." Nashville 10/6/07

About the grassroots nature of the '07-08 campaign -
"One of the enjoyments I have is that strategy-wise in campaigns you are always told that you have to have the logo always looking alike. Your letterhead and your bumper stickers, your TV advertisement all have to have the same logo. The characteristic of this campaign is that there's a thousand different logos. Everybody has a different sign, and everybody's doing their own thing." - Chicago Meetup Phone Chat 11/7/07

That one was the funniest, but my favorite was the retort about getting marching orders from the constitution

My favorite, from the Myrtle Beach, SC debate, when shill Cameron asked:''

CAMERON: Congressman Paul, yet another question about electability.
Do you have any, sir?

Ron's entire answer was awesome, but this partial quote was the single most powerful quote of the entire election season, Dem or Repub, IMHO:

Ron:
Let me see if I get this right. We need to borrow $10 billion from China, and then we give it to Musharraf, who is a military dictator, who overthrew an elected government. And then we go to war, we lose all these lives promoting democracy in Iraq. I mean, what's going on here?

"Freedom is popular" FTW.

But another that blew me away and has stuck with me all this time is, "Terrorism is a tactic. You can't have a war against a tactic."

"Deficits mean future tax increases, pure and simple. Deficit spending should be viewed as a tax on future generations, and politicians who create deficits should be exposed as tax hikers. "

I'll throw this one out there; it caught my attention back in 2007 :)

"We need a strong president, strong enough to resist the temptation of taking power the President shouldn’t have.”

You can see the quote in context at around 0:45 in this video:

My favorite moment is when Ron Paul shouted "For Liberty" and rang the liberty bell. Actually, he was ringing that bell all across Texas during the 2008 primaries.

If he wins the Presidency, I hope that they'll bring this bell for his inauguration.

"...a busy president is a dangerous president."

So true...In a small government that lets people live their lives and lets the states deal with issues, the president shouldn't have too much to do (in comparison with what we have had).
