Are there any liberty candidate prospects for the 2010 race against the perpetual incumbent Democrat Congressman Rick Boucher? The 9th district covers all of SWVa.

There are two that have filed according to the Green Papers

the other is Independent Jeremiah David Heaton http://www.heatonforcongress.com/ he has raised about 16,000 so far.

not sure how liberty related they are; havent checked them out

Heads up guys; the 9th District Republicans are going for a convention in May; there are reportedly 4 or 5 candidates; but none of them have filed with the FEC and only one with the state board.

Stay away from Griffith; he's been in office a while.....no good can come of that.... check out some of the legislation he's sponsored since 1994

I've exchanged PMs with him in the past. He said that he was going to be at townhall meetings and other events, but I never saw him. And believe me, he would have seen me.

A very common thing he hears from people after his speeches is,"Wow you're the real deal!". He is not a career politician and doesn't read from a prepared speech. What you see is what you get with Dave which is a rare find in politics.

On the Real ID issue Dave is opposed to any form of national identification period.

On the Patriot Act issue he is opposed to all elements that infringe on our personal liberties which would include the Patriot Act.

As Benjamin Franklin said,"Those who would give up/trade liberty for temporary security deserve neither".

We have been told by many that this primary race has become a race between Dave and Morgan Griffith. At this point they say as long as we can prove we can get as much money as Mr. Griffith, Dave will win this primary and go on to defeat Mr Boucher in November. So our goal in these last delegate meetings will be to persuade them of that. The RNC and RPV have announced they will fully support which ever candidate gets the nomination which is heartening. We will now go to local business owners and try and get donations. After speaking with Dave I hope you can spread the word amongst the Liberty camp and help us generate support. No, but if you read the papers you might think so lol. The convention is this Saturday. Griffith's people are on campaign overdrive for a reason. This will not be the easy nomination he had hoped for. There is a very real chance he could lose. We shall see.

Griffith got 50.8% Moore got 33.7 Light got between 10 and 11% Ring got about 5% and Roop 1% . Carr dropped out at the convention to support Moore. If Griffith wouldn't have gotten that one extra vote they would have dropped off the lowest candidate and did a re-vote. There would be a whole different story in the papers. Such is life. Time to move on. It was very exciting hearing the Moore! Moore! Moore! chanting of the audience though. He has very strong support. Four of Griffith's supporters said if Griffith didn't win in the first round they were switching to Dave. That would have been 6 or 7 delegate votes. If only...... I honestly believe Moore is the best chance at defeating Boucher but maybe Griffith can do it. Boucher has got to go.

I read your email the day you sent it but for some reason I failed to

In reviewing our recent emails, my staff realized the error.

1. What role does the Constitution play in the government of the U.S.
its citizens?

This is my job description as US Representative. Article 1, Section 8.


The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts
and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and
general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises
shall be uniform throughout the United States;

To borrow money on the credit of the United States;

To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States,
and with the Indian Tribes;

To establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization, and uniform Laws on the
subject of Bankruptcies throughout the United States;

To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix
the Standard of Weights and Measures;

To provide for the Punishment of counterfeiting the Securities and current
Coin of the United States;

To establish Post Offices and Post Roads;

Everything not covered here belongs to the STATES!!!


2. What role does "democracy" play in the government of the U.S. and its
citizens?

Democracy is Government of the people and by the people. NOT Government of
the Corporation by the Corporation.

3. Do you support HR 1207 for a full and transparent audit of the Federal
Reserve?

YES, YES, YES.... But, opening the books on the Fed will 'scare' the
international markets and that is when the dollar will reset. Once you
open the books on the Fed you must commit to following through with ending
the fed.

4. What are your thoughts on Rick Boucher's rationale for voting against
the recently passed healthcare bill?

Rick is attempting to cover his bases....Insurance Reform is needed...but
the monster Congress passed goes very far beyond that. Rick voted
correctly...however it is clear that it was only for political reasons.


5. Do you foresee an economic crisis similar to what is happening in Greece
in our country's future? If so, what should the federal government do (if
anything) to prevent such a thing from happening here?

Yes, we are in trouble... no fiat currency has lasted over 100 years. We
have 3 years until we reach the 100 year anniversary of the creation of
the Fed. The only hope is to abandon a debt based economy and drive the
international bankers out of the currency creation business.....in lay
person terms....End the Fed.

Sadly, Heaton has not done much to get his campaign off the ground. His website is not frequently updated: http://www.heatonforcongress.com

Also, his campaign doesn't seem to be very engaged at all in social networking sites. Needless to say his "viability" is in serious question.

Thoughts? Has anyone seen any activity from him in the district otherwise?

Boucher voted against healthcare so he will win. That is my thought.
