Please take this quiz and report your rounded percentage score. (No googling ;))

http://www.americancivicliteracy.org/resources/quiz.aspx

You can also talk about the questions you missed.

I hope I set up the distribution OK. It is a pretty hard test but I have confidence in Ron Paul people.

I answered this on another forum recently: You answered 53 out of 60 correctly — 88.33 %

The only part I'm not good at is history. My high school history class was pretty bad - I had to correct my teacher on constitutional stuff all the time.

You can consult the following table to see how freshmen and seniors scored on each question as part of the survey administration.

Answers to Your Missed Questions:
Question #15 - B. The Supreme Court struck down most legal restrictions on it in Roe v. Wade.
Question #50 - A. the price system utilizes more local knowledge of means and ends.

Well, I messed up the abortion question because I hit the wrong radio button (I am quite aware that Roe made restricts on abortion past the first trimester illegal!). #50 was odd, quite difficult.

I got the philosopher king one wrong and I selected the wrong button on one of the economics questions. The college kids that are scoring 20% on this should just be deported.

(If we were to have a Ron Paul version of Fred Thompson Forum, I'd have them sent to Gitmo for re-education).

Are the university results accurate? I'm a public high school senior and I got two letter grades above the average Harvard senior? It seems a bit unbelievable since I've got no shot at getting into those colleges.

Out of college seniors,

44.39% knew the CENTURY that Jamestown was founded in

47.11% knew about the Gulf of Tonkin

40.12% knew of Saddam's Baath Party

43.76% knew what Federalism was

and no wonder we get into needless wars- 19.34% knew what the just war theory was

This test was somewhat difficult for anyone not currently studying history, or enjoy reading history or political science. The college test scores are totally believable. The average Ron Paul supporter is probably in the 90th percentile for knowledge in these subjects.

I think they may be considering the projected social security spending, not the amount already spent. The wording of that question was really terrible.

I took this quiz about a week ago when someone mentioned it on Reason's Hit & Run Blog. The entire thread there (http://www.reason.com/blog/show/122746.html) is kind of interesting. You'll see some happy talk about Ron Paul's million dollar week, a guest appearance by Eric "Only Giuliani can defeat the radical jihadists" Dondero and an interesting critique of this quiz.

Worth a read.

I wouldn't doubt it. I was talking to Justice Kennedy of the USSC and he was pretty pissed at several Ivy league college graduates who didn't even know what the separation of powers was.

I don't feel too bad about the ones I missed. The Lincoln/Douglas debates were about whether or not slavery should spread to territories-turned-new-states, not about the morality of slavery. Officially, perhaps, but the latter subject certainly made it into the actual debates...

It doesn't say that the stimulus is good for the economy long-term, but decreasing taxation and increasing spending obviously does stimulate the economy.

I remember thinking of the that question for a while when I took the MMEs again (the State withheld my MME math score for unknown reasons, and, by law, I had to retake both the entire ACT/MME tests over again).

I failed civics, as I hated my teacher (the girls basketball coach, also drivers ed teacher, pe teacher), and slept through the class to not end up shooting myself. The class was in the boys locker room. It stank, was crowded, with no desks, no ac, and a rat problem.

Question #8 - C. appoint additional Supreme Court justices who shared his views
I have yet to read the book "FDR versus the Constitution"

Question #12 - B. the Supreme Court struck down most legal restrictions on it in Roe v. Wade
Whatever. I just think its not the Government to decide about abortion.

Question #13 - E. certain permanent moral and political truths are accessible to human reason
I'd probably have difficulty selecting a quote by Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, and Aquinas.

Question #17 - D. manmade satellite
I guess I read too fast. Sputnik was a telecommunications system.

Question #29 - B. a resident can benefit from it without directly paying for it
I never studied how levees are funded.

Question #30 - C. decreasing taxes and increasing spending
That's what Obama is doing. Increasing taxes for the rich and spending like a drunk sailor.
