2010 Resolutions

I haven't seen any discussion about this yet, but we need to think about resolutions that we should be submitting at the upcoming GOP conventions. Here are some ideas:


"End the Fed"
Improved ballot access (fewer signatures, lower fees)
Voting paper trail/electronic voting elimination
Student loan elimination
State sovereignty
Privatize marriage

Remember to read your state's Republican Party platform before submitting resolutions. You'd be surprised which one's are already in there (e.g. abolishing the Dept. of Education is already in the TX platform).

I would add that looking at LittleLightShining's thread/research on state spending is a good start. This paints a target on the departments that are MOST wasteful and most easily trimmed. It will take more convincing to get rid of a department that's an area's "bread and butter," but if there's some kind of artsy stupid program that spends millions and millions, only really employs a few folks, and nabs the money out of the citizenry's pockets? It's got a good chance of being popular on the chopping block.
