Well this settles our mixed thoughts on Simcox. He is not a liberty candidate, and was not. Clearly Simcox cared mostly about illegal immigration, so he sacrificed the Constitional/Liberty part of his platform to endorse establishment Republican JD Hayworth. I think it's time we get behind Jim Deakin, and give us his full support in this race. He is the liberty candidate running against run-of-the-mill Republicans John McCain and JD Hayworth.

I think August 24 is the primary voting day.

I have reviewed Jim Deakin's website (http://jimdeakin.com/issues.html) and find him to be liberty-er than Hayworth and McCain. Deakin has put out his position on the Federal Reserve (http://sonoranalliance.com/2010/01/24/pr-deakin-dont-confirm-bernanke/).

His position on Armed Forces and veterans is clear enough if one could trust Republican candidates off the street to fulfill their position pledges which I don't. I wish he could just tell the public what he thinks about the ongoing occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan - in or out?

August 24th is primary day (http://www.azsos.gov/election/2010/info/ImportantDates.htm).

J.D. Hayworth is...a dumbass. I know that's blunt but there literally is no difference between him and Rush Limbaugh. Same debunked neocon value system, same ignorant blowhard attitude, same private sector career, same physical appearance. Thank God I never lived in his district.

I will be supporting Deakin from this point on. I've told my family about him already.

How was the meeting with Jim Deakin?

Is this a lost cause with the media fawning over JD?

How was the meeting with Jim Deakin?

Deakin is much better than Hayworth and McCain. Much closer to a liberty candidate. But he's still not a libertarian. I still haven't decided who I will vote for. I'm usually ok with voting for long shot candidates if they are liberty candidates, but Deakin isn't a real liberty candidate so it's hard to justify. He is the best candidate in the race but I still don't know if it's worth voting for him. I almost want to vote Hayworth just to get McCain out of of office.

Voting for one lousy candidate to replace another slightly more or less lousy candidate isn't going to benefit you or America in the short run or the long run.

Casting your vote for a good candidate will let the Hayworths and the McCains of the world know that as Glenn Beck stated "it's not enough for Republicans to just suck less than the other side" unless of course you actually believe it is good enough to just suck less than John McCain.

John McCain as bad as Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid in my book. I don't usually support voting for the lesser of two evils but in this case, it's going to be a big improvement.
