In Texas and PA, there are laws on the book that if youi don't win the primary, you cant change your party affiliation.. in other words he can't chang eto IND. In my opinion he should then withdraw, that way all of his supporters could write him in.

BTW I nominate Ron Paul jr. for his VP

in 1980 john anderson challenged the laws in court in many states and won. i really doubt ron paul will go for another round 3rd party or independent but if he did he would probably win a court challenge in the states where anderson did not run and invalidate the laws already.

Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, many other have had write-in votes. If you can write the name you can write it in.

Hugely impressed with the sophistication of questions here, kudos. :)

There is some discussion of this question. Because we have a republican electoral college and not a direct democracy, the question is more complicated. On election day, we're not voting for president directly but for that candidates slate to represent Dr. Paul, for example, in the electoral college. Literally and legally, it is the potential electors who are the candidates on the ballot. Those individuals were not primary losers then running for the same office of another party or independent.

Different states have different laws on the filing and counting as write-in candidates.

I think what with Ron Paul being Jeffersonian and all, Gradient is probably referring to the illegitimate child Ron had with his black slave.
