As the father of Western Civilization, Socrates the philosopher, literally meaning lover of wisdom, exposed Greece's vast world of knowledge as an uncultivated wilderness out of control. He did so by challenging the ancient sophists, literally meaning wisdomers, who chose to take full advantage of the situation exasperating the confusion even further stirring the pot to a boil by arguing on the side of chaos (there is no truth, but many) while making a fabulous living off of wealthy Greeks along the way.
While Socrates demonstrated that a quality truth could be realized by the use of an inductive rational process he coined "the dialectic," or, as it is most commonly known as today, the "Socratic Teaching Method," his pupil Plato later showed how Socrates' "truth engine" could be quickened by the use of his own dialectic "The Theory of the Forms." His rational process produced a higher quality "best principled" conclusion one which highlighted "Truth" in perfect form punctuating the word with a higher case "T."
In order for them to cut through the "sophist"ication prevalent during their more modern times, our Founding Fathers declared not a government based on a legal precedent, on a past tradition, or on a wayward cognitive political science, but they instead reached for a higher Civil Purpose founding a new nation on a natural law, the physical scientific method in use during their time, thus establishing a "best principled" political Truth.
This Truth was declared self evident and unalienable by them with "self evident" making the explaining and teaching of their conclusion unnecessary by sophisticated experts as such a Truth was deemed bipartisanly "unalienable" reducing not to the mind's understanding of it but to the collective soul's, collective conscience's or, as many like to say, the collective heart's perception of it.
So, where does this lead or leave us? Well, such an incredible Truth makes our government, the necessary tyranny established by our Founding Fathers to serve our Civil Purpose, accountable to God's judgement.
In expounding on this Truth, this portal to the American way, we need to add the minor character of a lowly prostitute into our Founding Father's performance, the little masterpiece they wrote and acted out before signing their names to under the penalty of God's judgement as The Declaration of Independence. As they declared a Truth while representing "we the people (commoners)," the lowly prostitute herself should represent the lessor outcaste untouchables. The difference between a slave and an outcaste untouchable is while a slave is exploited by his or her master, an outcaste untouchable is rejected by the society of both the slave and master alike.
Putting this together, we should be envisioned and empowered as Americans. On one hand, while the king is ordained by God to own all things, he is also endowed with a bright face, a namesake, and an education; meanwhile, on the other hand and by the flip of a coin at that, while the prostitute is damned as his inversion to a tragic subsistence trespassing on his property as the owner of nothing, she represents the faceless, the nameless, and the uneducated.
Yet, according to the Truth our Founding Fathers declared, the souls of the king and the lowly prostitute were/are created equal having been born with the same exact business agenda.

C'mon, you've read the Gorgias, right?

You read the part where Socrates slams Greek Democracy when speaking to Callicles, right?

Let's not get this wrong, Socrates and Plato wanted government by panels of experts. They saw the masses as mobs. Let's keep them in context.

And that Truth is self evident and unalienable. Once again, it is self evident in how the people do not need experts explaining (confusing), defining (misconstruing), or teaching (revising) its meaning. It is unalienable in how it reduces down bipartisanly beyond the devisive mind to be perceived by the collective soul, the collective conscience, or, as many like to say, the collective heart.
I only mentioned Socrates and Plato to show how they developed the concept of Truth by the use of truth engine "dialectics." The sophists did not believe that such a virtue existed.
