YES! i was just yesterday sad to see that his old website said he wasn't going to run again, so this is amazing news. Our list of Liberty candidates just keeps getting better.

I'm happy to see him run but this seems a little late at this point. When is the primary?

He definitely should have gotten involved earlier than this, but I obviously hope he can win again.

So does he have a tough primary with Roche or what? He really should have announced his intentions earlier.

According to Roche's page, the Independence Caucus(http://www.ourcaucus.com/) already endorsed Roche. This is so dumb... they didn't even wait until the filing deadline to see who was in the race!

Roche is a financial executive. That can't be too popular.

Yeah, I imagine stuff like the Scott Brown victory made him re-evaluate his decision. This is exciting news, I only live 3 hours away and have a lot of friends in the area, so I'll have to try to get out there and volunteer for the campaign later.

BJ Lawson, of all the so-called "liberty candidates," has by far the best platform because he is able to merge progressive ideals with libertarian solutions. (IMO)

I thought he did state his intentions earlier... not to run. However, he's probably re-evaluated everything based on Scott Brown's success and Rand's early success and Medina's surprising surge in the polls as well as NJ and VA electing republican governors. This has likely given him that "Yes We Can" feeling!

FUCK YEAH. Lawson was one of my favorite candidates (along with Amit Singh) in 2008, and I am SOOOO psyched that he's going to take another swing in 2010. Let's get the sub-forum going once it's official.

Agreed, he's probably the only republican who's ever uttered the words "sustainable development". People would call him a liberal if he posted on this forum.

Good for him! Mr. Lawson always struck me as one of the most dynamic and well spoken of our candidates. I hope he does really well!

We probably should put this back into General Politics and let the word spread around a little.

BJ shouldn't have a problem winning the primary. He can always tout that he got record vote totals in the general, during a year in which the GOP was doomed at the polls anyway. Now that the pendulum is swinging the other way, he can parlay that to victory.

Besides, BJ's soon-to-be awesome fundraising will catapult him.

Awesome!...but why so damn late?

David Price just sent out his single communication in the past 2 years to his district. It was a little campaign mailer. This is actually pretty early for Price. Usually you don't hear from him until the week before the election.

Well, BJ just brought it up in yesterday's blog on www.lawsonforcongress.com:

Last weekend, 24-year incumbent Representative David Price circulated a letter to his 4th District constituents that leads with the header “Keeping In Touch”. Despite giving his message such a title, Price has clearly seized the opportunity to put forth more of the same tired Washington rhetoric crafted to do nothing more than secure his re-election.
