President Obama’s greatest need is to escape the ideological grip of congressional Democrats and the liberal base of the Democratic party (they’re one and the same). But he either doesn’t recognize this or, as a conventional liberal himself, isn’t so inclined. This self-inflicted difficulty has put Obama in worse political straits than President Clinton faced after the Republican landslide of 1994.

Hell, as bad as I disliked Clinton, I'd jump in a time machine in my underwear, without a care to where I'd come out at, right now, just to go back that far.

Clinton was restrained by a counter party in the house and senate. Deadlocked government = better government. Least they cant do anything.

Bush hands down. Stupid poll. Neither Obama nor Clinton were able to get their major policy agenda (universal healthcare) through in the first year.

A poll based on the idea of divide and conquer.

Obama has been the most radical in a much faster way.

However, Clinton was very liberal as well, just in a more incremental way.

This can be said of most presidents since Wilson.

In the case of Obama, it is a blessing in disguise since he is so progressive and radical that it has served as a huge wake-up call for the liberty loving American people. If he constinues along the path he has chosen to be led by the fearsome foursome, he will lose to almost any candidate in 2012.

What did Obama actually do in his first year as president?

I know that he continued Bush's stimulus program and bailouts, but what has he actually done besides continue Bush's policies?

I seriously want to know what Republicans are upset about that he's actually done. Not what he's said.
