I like their last several planks, but 1 and 2 are deal-breakers for me. Government has no right to meddle with trade or prevent people from buying the cheapest goods they can find, IMO.

Yea, these first two planks are deal breakers for most ppl here. I don't think that this is truly representative of the preponderance of the Tea Party members. It is fairly amerocentric and ethnocentric.

The bit about being against NAFTA is due to not wanting to grant special trade deals to ANY country, and NAFTA does that... NAFTA isn't about free trade, it is a protectionist policy for Mexico, USA, and Canada.

I will support it. I don't support Plank 2. I like Free Trade, however I don't like NAFTA and WTO. I think we need to eliminate those agreements first and foremost. Debate can ensue on what to do after we eliminate them. But we need to get rid of those agreements

Yep, I'm against NAFTA too. But NAFTA isn't free trade; it's government policed and managed trade.

This.

Also I don't buy goods just because they are "Made in America". I buy what has the best cost for its quality.

I see your point, I think the wording of number 2 is bad. Maybe it should say we reject free trade agreements such as nafta blah blah blah.
