The convention's first day lacked the orchestrated staging of most modern political events. The convention host delivered a meandering welcome speech without notes, saying he misplaced them. Former congressman Tom Tancredo (R-Colo.) offered a fiery defense of Judeo-Christian faith and traditional American values, but there was no prayer or Pledge of Allegiance to open the convention -- nor was there an American flag in the convention hall. (Skoda blamed the oversight on the hotel staff.)

Good.

The Pledge is nationalist bullshit written by a socialist.

The July 2, 2009 Tea Party in Nashville began with a prayer that concluded by saying "And Lord help us to support Israel through whom you will fulfill prophecy and we will receive our salvation".

Oh, and here's a flag display from the same event.

Traitors.I should've set up a booth with the German and Greek flags just to get reaction from people. After all my family is German and Greek. Oh, and I'm also part Jewish too and this is still offensive ;):p:cool:

offered a fiery defense of Judeo-Christian faith and traditional American values,

Forget the neo-con foreign policy. The above is the biggest threat to the tea party movement. Obama has negated the influence of aggresive interventionist policy in the tea party movement by his actions in the middle east. The problem is that many in the religious right will try and turn a movement about fiscal issues into a mandate on all social issues.

Sincerely,

TeaParty Convention = SarahPAC II ...? most amoeba-like...?
is the whole thing totally a PAC coming into being???
it was not an attempt to be simply populistic
insted its merely the formative phase
of a PAC's happy merrie arrival?
