this was posted in another forum, but it also belongs here due to the dire implications. it is wrong to tax food and what will be next, a tax to breathe? well that's really what a carbon tax would be. get ready, there is nothing they won't tax or control.

The tax on milk, meat, vegetables and other food purchased by shoppers will generate an estimated $12.5 million for the fiscal year that ends June 30. It will raise another $50 million for fiscal 2011. Food purchased with food stamps will not be taxed.

They did the same stupid thing in my town. Now the total sales tax at local resturants is 10%. Crazy! And why the American people doesn't rise up against this grap is beyond me.
