Cité Soleil, Haiti’s largest slum in the capital of Port-au-Prince, has been called "the most dangerous place on Earth" by the United Nations.[54] The slum is a stronghold of supporters of former Haitian President Jean-Bertrand Aristide,[55] who, according to the BBC, "accused the US of forcing him out - an accusation the US rejected as 'absurd'".

funny I just read it today myself, but I was more concerned with the fact that the clintons and bushes are in charge of all the aid . . . I can just see them now with all the money: One for you a hundred for me, one for you a hundred for me, one for you . . . but hey give me that one back as tax and the other one as interest . . . what are you complaining about? You still have one! :D

Yeah, I read up on Haiti and posted a bunch links on my Facebook profile:

Terrible title for this article. It should be called "Mercantilism" or "Corporatism in Washington's Backyard."

And here is why Haiti is so poor

The history of Haiti is really no different than the banker bail-outs that we see today in our country. I'm indebted to pay for Goldman Sachs' effin bonuses?! I don't think so!

Call it corporatism or mercantilism, but it sure is hell isn't free-market capitalism. And, the more I read about Haiti's history, the more effed up it is that these same nation-states and quasi-governmental, international bodies are using the earthquakes to send in their militaries and impose their economic policies on the Haitian populace.

Look at the World Bank's website. Haiti doesn't even start paying principal on their loan with them until 2015!

Thanks for the links Liberty Rebellion. I like :D

Capitalizing (and conquest) on another disaster, whether an earthquake or a war . . . these people never cease to make me sick.
