Yeah, well, compromise IS their ideology.
20 years now I've been watching them argue thus...

"We need to push the gun control agenda so our opponents don't."
"We fight them over there so we don't have to fight them over here."
"I'm against taxes... look, I have a great record. I kept the rates constant, and I added thousands of pages of exemptions to the code!"
"I don't agree with socialized health care, which is why I'm voting to keep medicare and medicaid funding where it is!"

That's a great set of quotes. I think I am going to use that in the future :D

I took it as more of a "we don't even want to appear to believe these things"
