The point that needs to be hammered at and hammered at regarding this subject is:

"Doesn't that sound similar to a parent requiring a child to get all B's and A's in class so that the child may be allowed to use the computer, phone and be up an hour later than normal bed time? Exactly... But we are not the Government's children, we are THEIR PARENTS!"

that and "Dale Earnhardt Sr. dropped out of school after the 8th grade and look at how well he drove!"... gotta get that nascar vote, would take away 70% of Perry supporters I reckon...

That's been going on in another facist state for years, North Carolina.

BUT, it is ok to give them to ILLEGAL aliens. As long as they don't drop out of our free public schools.

This might be a good development in disguise. People could wake up to the fact that you don't need government permission to travel.

The right to travel is just that, a right. Supported by Supreme Court decisions.

A license (divers license in this case) is applying for a privilege.

"A privilege—etymologically "private law" or law relating to a specific individual—is a special entitlement or immunity granted by a government or other authority to a restricted group, either by birth or on a conditional basis. A privilege can be revoked in some cases. In modern democracies, a privilege is conditional and granted only after birth. By contrast, a right is an inherent, irrevocable entitlement held by all citizens or all human beings from birth."

I have been following this for over a decade, and know many who travel without a license issued by the state.
