The homeless close to where I work lost their tent to a police officer who chose to on his own time take a knife and rip it to shreds. Of course, they were trespassing so they really don't have any recourse.
But we have a recourse. Saul, the greatest tyrant to ever live, was transformed into the Apostle Paul, a lowly tent mender. He would beseech us not to complain to the authorities about the evil act of destroying the tent, but to have the courage to mend the damaged tent.
While the solution of tyranny is to thoughtlessly reproduce the tent, God's Will is to repair the damaged tent.
So, God's creation focusses more on mending than on reproduction.

The point being that our Founding Fathers were Christian. As Christians today, we are redeemed. That doesn't mean that we are made anew by reproduction, but that we are done so over time by mending. Tyranny is very arrogant in how it thinks it can solve problems by reproducing that which has been lost.
While reproduction moves tyranny to do things, the desire to mend moves the Will of God. We are born acting out of deliberate selfishness with our little feet following after our hands while the Almighty's hands spontaneously follow after His feet.
