San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom: War On Drugs Is A Failure

San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom proclaimed the nation's war on drugs a total failure and insisted the crime rate would go down if the government spent money on treatment as opposed to jailing people with drug problems.

"If you want to get serious, if you want to reduce crime by 70% in this country overnight, end this war on drugs," he told reporters at City Hall on Thursday. "You want to get serious, seriously serious about crime and violence end this war on drugs."

Newsom is a bleeding heart liberal! Liberal economics 110% he wants to create universal health care IN San Francisco lol. I'd be a liberal.... IF IT ACTUALLY WORKED! Which it doesn't, which is why I'm not a liberal :) liberal economics is just a failure, therefore, I adopted fiscal conservatism, free markets, so I'm a libertarian. They are pretty good on social issues, but I do have a few disputes with them there:

gay marriage:

they want the same benefits

*I don't believe any marriage licenses, no benefits for anyone

they tend to not want drugs legal.. it's split with liberals

*I'd like them completely decriminalized

Liberals are not as much about personal freedom as you may think ;)

liberals want seat belt laws

*I don't

liberals want speed limits

liberals ARE about restricting personal freedoms, under the guise of "protecting the masses"
