After months of monitoring a couple convicted of tax evasion, all U.S. marshals needed to get inside their fortress-like home was a little deception.

Ed and Elaine Brown, who vowed for months to resist if authorities tried to arrest them, put out a welcome mat for what they thought was a group of supporters. They turned out to be marshals who arrested the pair without a single shot fired.

"They invited us in, and we escorted them out," U.S. Marshal Stephen Monier said Friday, releasing the first details of Thursday night's arrests.

Well, at least that solves the mystery of how. Although it taking 9 months for the government to figure it out is pretty pathetic. I'm glad that they're alive, but not that they're in custody. Perhaps RP will pardon them, or their convictions will become null and void when the IRS/Income Tax is dismantled.

I was soooo dissappointed when I heard this story. I think it's dispicable that the only way they could get them was to pose as supporters.

Me personally, I know they were trying to be the big guys and get the tax criminals, but personally, I think lying to get to someone is the lowest thing one could do. People do this all the time and it's just sickening.

I know this is going to sound bad and people will probably tell me it's not nice but if I knew who the Marshal's were and I saw them face to face, my hand would be upside theirs.

Thank God nobody got killed! I hope they can beat any new charges and pick-up the fight again in 54 months (sans 15% for good-time), too much bravado, but that was their deal...
