A lot of the chemical shit put into our food adds onto the Obesity problem. She should be targeting the food companies pumping this shit into the food, not the end user. This neo-liberal bitch needs to keep her mouth shut. She is trying to marginalize fat people.

Get rid of gross shit like aspartame, splenda, chemical preservatives, and high fructose corn syrup, and you'll' see an overall boost in health.

Subsidizing what? People pay for their own health insurance. For now at least.

Agreed. Same with that lawyer guy. Fight the food companies on the other stuff besides trans fats if you're gonna go aggro on everyone, at least do it correctly.

Part 4 with Huckabee was disturbing. Did not realize he passed a law to have children weighed and a report sent to the parents stating whether the child is overweight. No doubt I could see it being misused against parents by getting CPS involved for children that are slightly over weight. Good to hear the crowd booing him though.

That isn't only in Arkansas. In the state I live in, when I was in school, we were weighed and if a kid was considered overweight, they sent a letter home.

I don't think Stossel should've pressed the "SWAT guy" about his role in improving our food choices. He may have been using government framework to get the job done, but it's the right of the people to redress their grievances with other people in a court of law. However, I don't think the terms were even, because it's not allowed to counter-sue parties that bring about frivolous lawsuits.

I love these Stossel shows, but I wish they were a bit more... polished. They seem like they're edited by middle schoolers

HOLY SHIT! Take a look at the first video at the 8:50 mark, the fat guy on an airplane seat. His ass is pretty much blocking the isle... rotfl... :D

to the overweight people, I'm sorry, but that picture is just too damn funny...

Being fat is bad because you will outlast all the others in the FEMA camp and end up costing the United States more money due to having to pay the camp guards for a longer period of time.

lol

I recently heard that the city of NY wants to ban sodium in food.

Also I listened to a baker tell me that what cooks and chefs are replacing the trans fats with is equally bad for health.

They will probably replace it with MSG which is far worse. I really hate Bloomberg and as much as I have trashed Guiliani in these forums he makes me miss having him as mayor instead because of this crap.

Yeah, and I noticed him walking down the steps in the audience three times in one show. Is that just his way of getting exercise? It's pretty annoying.

Actually they want to require companies to use 25% salt in their products.

Lol, could you imagine some company increasing the amount of salt in their food before the ruling goes into effect, and then reducing it?

I finally got around to watching this one. Gillespie was abusive. There was no reason to make an enemy out of Roth in that show. Gillespie went out of his way to try to humiliate her. She was being reasonable, open-minded, and friendly. The last thing I expected to feel was pity.

On Stossel, his bias is very evident in this talk-show format. Instead of conceding when a guest makes a solid point, he dismisses them. Even if he was really out of time, the lawyer made some solid points which werenīt addressed. Stossel didnīt have the evidence to disprove him, such as when the lawyer said warnings DO prevent accidents (however, the lawyer did look like a dumbass when he started saying "people arenīt smart like you and I John. Some people donīt know that eating lots of junk food will make you obese. Some people are forgetful. People forget!"). The Huckabee segment was pathetic. I donīt know why Stossel brought him on to talk about one of the least offensive govīt education policies Iīve heard of. Crass paraphrase of Stossel: "You weigh kids at school! If there were a school which taught kids English and arithmetic while then there was another which said 'we weigh your kids!' donīt you think people would say maybe my kids being weighed isnīt that important?"
