Look let me go out on a limb here, but the last month there is so much hoopla about ron endorsing, not so liberty minded fellows for perhaps a favor in return.
We all know this is not like Ron at all. So is he really selling out? I think he knows more about something that is going to happen and is taking precautions in order to stand tall when the time comes. One can only speculate what plan that can be but it seems to me he is really trying to get as much support in both houses by the end of the year as he possibly can not thinking that kokesh, rand and perhaps peter will be enough.
