Decent???? It sure as hell isn't Ron Paul writing it. The last time Ron was on, Larry allowed Ron to be called anti-semitic and laughed at him.

Ron Paul uses facebook like Jesse Benton takes out his bubblegum before he gives interviews.

I don't know if it's Ron Paul or not but what do you want him to say "Larry King is an ignorant blowhard"?

Ron is pretty smart. He knows what he's doing. There's a reason he's been all over the media lately is frequently on Larry King.

I rarely watch TV but will be looking forward to the YouTube of this.

I bet Ron Paul feels like shoving his foot up that Keynesian Statist's @$$ after that closing statement.

That Hoover statement must have really pissed Ron off.

LMAO at Reich trying to equate Hoover as laissez-faire/Austrian. And damn the time constraint - seems Larry had just enough time to allow Reich to perpetuate the myth.

Well, the opposition in this case argued pro big gov. Ron made his points until time elapsed.

It was really a non-event; Dr. Paul made a few good statements, while the other individual was simply there to provide the perspective of Keynes. No one will remember his final comment.

RP, sitting with a big grin, was itching to rebut his statement. I found it quite amusing.

He had to refute the same myth this morning on squackbox from another Dem Keynesian.

Does anyone else notice the irony in a man named "Reich" defending Nazi like economics? You'd think he'd be working towards dissociating himself from that stigma, rather then trying to perpetuate it.

Holy shit! The end was like:

Reich: Larry I would just like to add that Ron Paul is a anti-semetic homophobe who fucks his dead mother.

Ron Paul: Uh I'd like to challenge you on that, I...

Larry King: I'm sorry we're out of time, we're going to have to leave it at that.

I want to hear Reich answer the premise that the Gov. spending is better than that of the private sector.....the central planners are experts at capital outlays?? hahahahahaha

and Roosevelt saved the country???:eek: So many older people think this is the truth.....the "all for one and one for all" marketing....completely blind to the crook taking the people's good money away and transfering their wealth and our wealth for a fraud.

 Stop it already with the generational bashing thing. All this is going to lead to is the younger generation being blamed for x or y.

the government marketing to the citizens about the 1930's depression (even conducted by its own creation of the Resettlement Administration) was effective as the classroom history books portray that the interventions and programs were what got the nation through (from what I remember being taught and have seen, in addition to my conversations about the current depression today and monetary issues with people over 80 (which admittedly is a very small percentage of the people of that generation).

I suppose one could dig up some statistical information (surveys and such) to make the point of what the populist opinion was about this issue.

when did the "news reels" start showing during films earlier in American history? and were these private productions? or were they government sponsored? I seem to recall that they had produced these for government intervention during the depression.

edit: It seems that some of the "documentary" films were made under federal agency's but that most of the "news reels" in theaters were made by private studios.

the real "biggie" was the "fireside chat" radio propaganda

I bet Riech would contend that Bush II never did any government spending, and was all about tax cuts and free markets.

The one thing that most everybody can grasp is that the "Hoover Dam" was a massive public works project - get them to understand that, and its easy to let the pieces fall into place showing that the Depression lasted until 1946 because of FDR, and not in spite of him.

Can we have a do-over on the 20th century, please?

Ron had a great summery of Austrian economics at the end there.
Love the man.
