Liberty for the sake of liberty is no better than slavery; equality for the sake of equality is no better than inequality, the U.S. Constitution for the sake of the U.S. Constitution is no better than a dictatorship; statism or antistatism for the sake of statism or antistatism is no better than no statism or antistatism; and, responsibility for the sake of responsibility is no better than irresponsibility.
In other words, we are a nation founded on a Civil Purpose. That Civil Purpose was founded on a Truth. That Truth was founded on a natural law.
This natural law declared that all men (male and female) are created equal being born with the same exact business agenda whether he sit on the highest throne as the owner of everything or she trespass on his territory as the owner of nothing.

In liberty is there opportunity. All people are created different, and only through equality and freedom do we have a chance to fulfill our potential. Communism and other forms of central control claim to be benevolent every time, and pretend to be capable of helping each of us be the embodiment of our full potential. Which might be believable, if only there had ever been even one which could keep proper track of how many staples it uses, much less what our full potentialities really are...
Nice to see you, Uncle Em.

But Locke's natural right is greater than a civil right in that it reduces down physically like Dna. This makes the Almighty, the Truth, our slave: if we perish along the way, then He is burdened to heal us with His touch. Our Founding Fathers ideal was that we can't go wrong by holding the Truth even if does contrast with the cruel reality that we perceive with our senses. This makes our leaders responsible because they are subject to His judgement.
