Well, he’s actually right about that, but it’s not something you want to hear from the president. And to be fair it’s only by implication: From The Daily Caller: Obama, one year to the day after his historic inauguration, argued that when Americans are educated about the details of his plan “those specific provisions are actually very popular.” “One of the things that I have learned in Washington is you have to repeat yourself a lot because because unfortunately it doesn’t penetrate,” he said. Yeah, that’s it Barack. It’s because we didn’t...

I keep reading about how he now needs to become more moderate and move to the center.

But what people don't understand is that he is so far left that there's no way that he'll come to the center. He believes he's already in the center. He was perplexed by the thought that people were calling his policies of socializing banks and the auto industry socialist.

He will take his party down to a horrible defeat in 2010 and keep spiraling down to 2012.

He's not Bill Clinton. Clinton just wanted to be loved and to score some booty, so he just went with the flow. Obama has an agenda and will pull a Carter (while the Dems look for a way to get him out of office sooner).

That's pretty sound reasoning.

haha sadly, I think I've gotten people to agree! Like I've come out and said, "He thinks you're stupid." and people are just like "yeah, well we are" and they are okay with that. :(

The comment was not that people are stupid (focusing on the "people are uneducated" part) but that they were unaware of the content of the healt care bill (ignoring the rest of the sentence where he said they were uneducated about the contents of the helathcare bill). While I don't necessarily agree that people would support the bill even if they did know the contents of it (for me, I don't see enough which would help control the costs which is really the biggest problem with health care- not insurance or lack thereof) , I do not see that he was saying people were stupid.

Ask people (even highly educated ones) about the content of any bill and very few could tell you what is in it. Even those in Washington don't know all the details of bills they vote on. And that is scary.

To effectively penetrate your average sheeple only takes a couple of months in a re-education camp, a cult compound or 2,000 hours of MSNBC or CNN.

I watch MSNBC more than any other cable news source. I think it's satire.

I heard an interesting analysis yesterday that Obama has failed miserably at spelling out his health care plan with enough clarity and focus. People are afraid of the costs and taxes (and they are right) but they don't actually know the specific reasons why. Or something like that. I heard a fascinating poll that many "progressives" who voted for Obama and support universal health care either stayed home from the polls yesterday in Massachusetts or cast a protest vote for the Republican because they are angry with Obama for not following through on his agenda. So, the election of the Republican in Mass. does not necessarily mean that state is turning conservative.

If you happen to be in Washington and run into a congress critter - say something like: Hi Rep ____________ I really wanted to thank you for your vote to put sterilents in the drinking water in poorer areas. We really need to cut down on this excess population. (and say it like you mean it!). You might also add that it really took balls to vote for that shoot on sight provision for suspected gang members in that safer neighborhoods amendment in the back of - what was that appropriations bill - a few months ago... (they should be freaking by now - and spending the next fed days actually READING what they voted for...) :D

I don't see how anyone would be offended by what he said... unless you're looking to be offended.

Shame on us for not knowing what all 2000 pages say! Never mind that most of the politicians that voted on it don't either.

the American public is stupid...
Just because the public does not see the deception perpetrated on it by psychopaths does not make it "stupid."

But I don't even think this is the relevant discussion anyway. The far more important issue at hand is the "American People's Humanity." If we don't lose our humanity, we will stop the establishment efforts to corrupt us, which is essential to achieve their objectives. So, for me, the level of our humanity is a far more serious and pertinent issue.

Currently 2,500 - 3,000 pages depending on who is reporting... Those managers amendments and "merging" of gargantuan documents makes these things grow...

If someone had actually read all the versions - couple from the house, several from the senate. they would have read about 10,000 pages by now.

For Comparison "War and Peace" is 1478 pages and and about 2 1/2 inches thick. The 2003 version of the Encyclopedia Britanica is 32,640 pages and takes up 2 bookshelves - reading a third of it would be equivelent to reading all versions of this bill. The Constitution in it's original format is 6 pages.

We're a Constitutional REPUBLIC for a reason. Not a direct Democracy.

We're supposed to send people to Washington who understand the Constitution and follow it.

I suggest you read up a bit more on Clinton rather than thinking he was just a lazy go with the flow type president. Clinton is a first rate power stroke with an ego the size of China, much like Bush and Obama. None of them have an agenda they just take orders and if it so happens to be the same as their bosses, well then they are in luck.

The American public may be stupid in a harmless kind of way, they don't look where they are going sometimes and run in to poles.

Obama is stupid in a vicious and ugly sort of way, he wrecks economies and believes socialism has some merit in the real world.

So was no one listening when Bush said we were not able to comprehend the complexities of free trade or global re orginization, and redistribution ( he meant jobs not money which is the same thing to me), or called us racist bigots for opposing amnesty.

the only difference is OBAMA manages to complete the sentence, when he has his telaprompter
