Whether or not Republican Scott Brown captures the Senate seat in Massachusetts today, his surging and successful campaign is a fire bell in the night for the Party of Government. For Brown has run as an independent, an outsider, a protest candidate. His principal target: the health care reform bill that is the altarpiece of the Barack Obama presidency and lifetime achievement of Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi. For a full year, Obama, Reid, Pelosi and the leading acolytes of their party and media auxiliaries have been selling this plan as a historic Democratic reform to rival the Civil Rights Act and Social Security...

Nah, American has not made a "right turn," but I'll take the Ron Paul plug at the end. The title is just written to get attention.

It never really moves right, it just has times where the dems do so badly that they go back to the republicans, who in turn do just as badly so they go back to the dems.

The right or left movement requires change at the individual and local levels. The other stuff just shifts back and forth. The Regressives have been successful in getting the newer generations to be anti-culture, anti-tradition, pro-abortion, etc. To change this we would have to work at the local level. We'd need to get just as involved in schools and education, we'd need to get just as involved in various communities.

Who in the Republican Party today is calling for a Barry Goldwater-like rollback of federal power and federal programs? Except Ron Paul.
