At the march beforehand, I met that guy they show at the end with the long white hair who looks like an aging hippie. He was a nice guy. We appreciated the fact that someone of his generation was supporting Ron Paul. And the guy I sat next to at the rally was a rather rotund veteran of Iraq who complained how close the seats were together. He has a young son, lives in Indiana. Pretty normal Midwest type. It just went to show the diversity of his support.

Well I used to be fat...lost 100 pounds so I don't fit the bill, hehe.

The hippy at the end (that's not an insult to him) is a member of my meetup group. He's a great guy and a very enthusiastic supporter. He also thinks he's a walking advertisement for the diversity of the RP clan :)

6'1" 200lbs. I have a small beer gut. But I am still dead sexy. Must be the tatto that covers my chest. It distracts from the bad parts.

Hey, dorks are cool nowadays anyways. It's all you see on TV. Nerds rule, we even have out own channel. It's called G4.

Nope sorry all the Ron Paul supporters I know are actually very thin, average, or like me and apparently others on the forum, very into weight lifting.

Did this site want to comment on old Fred's or McCain's supporters? I doubt you find more than 1/5 who are not of Medicare age and I will bet 90% of Fred's people are TV couch potatoes!

I had bariatric(weight loss) surgery and have a lap band. I've lost weight on my own before quite a few times but wanted it permanent this time around. So far fairly good.

But anyway, yeah I agree. The Drs are swamped with people having surgery done.

Bottom line, we need more exercise and reduce portion sizes. Still guilty as charged on the exercise.

Why would fat people support Ron? Richardson went after the hefty people's vote - he promised them he would get them "protection" under the ADA.

That's us. I've been crabby from not having snack food. We bought two printer cartridges on this check plus the donations. I hate ramen pride noodles and will let the family eat them. Need to keep the weight off anyway ;)

YW

I already applied for Court Jester in Ron Paul's kingdom when he wins.

He said "Uh Mike, im not going to be KING...........I dont want to run your life or police the world, or decide how to spend your money for you. I want you to decide whats best for you and your family and make your own decisions."

I thought that was pretty cool. I think Ill vote for him.

5'9" 165lbs

Climb radio towers alot as part of my business, so its kinda hard to grow that "winter coat", otherwise I probably would since thats my only exercise and I eat lots of carbs.

If you go to wal-mart and look down the isles, everything you see is carbs carbs carbs sugar sugar sugar. I think thats the main problem, not that people are lazy.

I have to disagree. The long-haired hippy looking guy had some character, but the rest of the audience they showed looked pretty darn normal to me.

I've seen a lot weirder folk at Ron Paul rallies than that, believe me. :)

6'0" 315 here...

Of course, that was 355 6 weeks ago.

Bariatric Patients for Ron Paul??? I know I did the local Walk From Obesity with my Ron Paul T-shirt on...just wish SOMEONE would have commented on it.

I can never attend those obesity walks but always hear of them. The hospital where I had mine done had one. Good way to get the message out. I know even though people don't say much, I know they see it. I try to wear my shirt as much as possible

WTG on the weight loss.

I guess since RP supporters are all pot smokers they all sit around on the couch all day and eat munchies. Except to get up every few days to throw the frisbee to get some exercise.

IRO-bot

Don't forget the hackysack. Way better than frisbee, consumes less energy.

It was my first ever charity walk...3 miles. I'm glad I did it, but it kicked my a** good.

Several of the hospitals down here that do bariatric procedures got together and sponsored the walk - it was a nice day down near Downtown Dallas, and I made sure to take the course that included walking the streets :)

Were I still at my old job, I'd own several RP T-shirts and wear them everyday. Not so much here, unfortunately (stupid business-casual dress code!)

I'm not trying to put anyone down. I'm just commenting on the camera treatment and the sound effects that they're using when they show the people. They're focusing on specific things, and trying to paint a picture.

I have no problem with the diversity of Ron Paul's support. America is a very diverse place, and it's only encouraging to me that Ron Paul attracts all types.

5'10" and 170lbs. I work out constantly and I've lost around 40lbs of fat and gained 10lbs of muscle in the last year.

Guess I'm not stereotypical. :P

Hey this reminds me of an idea I had for someone in my meetup - he's losing a lot of weight and I told him he should have a pledge drive where he collects donations to Ron Paul for every pound he loses. It was supposed to be called Pounds for Paul.

Not sure if it's actually doable but we all had a laugh at the idea :)

Well I would rather be with a Ron Paul crowd anyday than a Mitt Romney Crowd!!! Ron Paul has a diverse group of REAL supporters instead of a cookie cutter bunch of preps like the Romney bunch. ;) FTR last I checked there wasnt a weigh-in before we get to cast our votes!!!!!

Not all that crazy looking (except for that one clip in the walk video :o), but certainly crazy enough to embark on a 2700 mile bike ride heading into winter.

That video is weird, I'm wondering how it finished. The yo-yo effect was a sure sign of amatuers. The VO was even worse.
